Jesus, Our Eternal Encourager
As we approach the first game of the new season, let’s remember to keep something in mind. None of us are perfect. We’re all going to make mistakes. We are going to miss lay-ups, make bad passes, and even make poor decisions. You might even do something that will really embarrass yourself and make you feel like hiding your face on the bench. Keep in mind everyone will fail at something this year. The point is to still try your best and to learn from your mistakes.
A more important thing to remember is when we have Jesus Christ in our lives we can always turn to him. He can help to change our attitude about those mistakes and a lot of other things too! When we trust him as our Savior, we know that he loves us more than we can imagine. We aren’t alone when we fail or make mistakes. Jesus is right beside us offering his peace. So, talk to him about it and see what he can do for you.
Our verse this week comes from 2 Thessalonians 2: 16-17;
“May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.”
